The Northampton Exchange Club enjoyed a successful 33rd annual Community Days last week.
The club will provide a limousine and chaperones for Little Miss Community Days and runners-up for the October Jack Frost parade.
The board recently approved the purchase of a new sound system to be used at various events, including Community Days. It will cost $800.
The club also is considering the purchase of a self-contained trailer with cooking facilities and a soda fountain for its outdoor events.
The band shell at the municipal park has been repaired and given a new coat of paint, thanks to the club.
Joseph Kovalchik, superintendent of the Northampton Area School District, has been approved by the board for membership.
The Exchange Club board will meet Wednesday, July 31, at Taylor's Roasted Coffee House, 1924 Main St., Northampton.
While new ideas will be discussed, the Exchange Club is expected to continue its traditional projects, including the Jack Frost Parade, Freedom Shrine presentation, Book of Golden Deeds, Boy and Girl of the Month, coin toss for the prevention of child abuse, crime and prevention program, craft shows, Proudly We Hail and One Nation Under God programs.
