The Parkland Garden Club presented its annual tour July 13 of 10 outstanding private gardens, titled "Midsummer's Idylls."

This year's tour featured David Shimp from Phoebe Floral Shop planting a Faerie garden at one of the gardens, a Chinese auction at another, and Shakespearian characters at others.

Participating in this year's tour were Teri and Phil Hope, Jean and Bob Hoopes and Diane and Jamie Mellen, all of North Whitehall Township, Sue and Todd Heller and Rose Mary and Terry Simpson, all of South Whitehall Township, Nancy and Al Holler of Upper Macungie Township, Tim Spinosa of Salisbury Township, and Jess and Arjana Etchason, Nancy Lloyd and Jackie Shearer, all of Allentown.

The tour provided an opportunity for visitors to learn new garden ideas and meet and talk with the homeowners.
