Family fun activities at Emmaus Community Park for Community Day. The noon to 6 p.m. event will feature a dunk tank, food, games, sporting events, local clubs, music and other entertainment. The evening will end with an old timer's baseball game as well as "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" softball game. Local organizations will sell food and drinks. Concerned East Penn Taxpayers Association's picnic will coincide with the Community Day celebration, Emmaus. The members invite past presenters and the public to join them in the North Pavilion to talk and share a good time. The group usually meets the third Tuesday of each month. The Emmaus Main Street Partners will host a clam bake 4 to 9 p.m. at the Groller and Women's Club pavilions in Emmaus Community Park. The last seating is 7:30 p.m. The ticket includes clams, barbecue, baked chicken, pulled pork, hot dogs, sausage sandwiches, crab cake sandwiches, chicken fingers, clam chowder, corn on the cob and varieties of salad. BYOB but no glass containers are permitted. The group is also offering tickets for a seafood raffle, lobster tail raffle and gift certificates to Chestnut Street Seafood. St. Peter's Union Church community picnic, 7863 St. Peters Road, Macungie, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Events include a tractor show, a car show, music, food and children's games and activities. For more information, call 610-682-7388.
A Christmas in July Craft and Vendor Fair 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown. Crafters will feature their wares, including stained glass, handmade cards, calligraphy, photography and ceramics. The event will also feature vendors representing companies such as the Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Avon and Scentsy. In addition, there will be a raffle with donated prizes from the crafters and vendors, as well as a book sale and "used treasures yard sale." Food will be available throughout the event, with breakfast, lunch, dessert and baked goods items. Proceeds will benefit the 275th anniversary committee. The Lehigh Valley Chapter 1371 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees will hold their annual picnic at the Allentown Rose Garden #2 picnic pavillion, starting 11:30 a.m. A complete luncheon, with drinks and dessert, will be provided. Participants will enjoy door prizes, a number of games and bingo. All current and former Federal workers are invited to attend. Participants may wish to bring their own folding chairs. Das Awkscht Fescht, one of the country's largest antique and classic car shows, will take place through Aug. 4 at Macungie Memorial Park. The featured car this year is the Buick. For more information, go to www.awkscht. com.
