Erwin Smoyer, 82, of Orefield, died July 1 from severe head injuries he received in a fall, according to Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim.

Smoyer was pronounced dead 10:40 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Smoyer, of 3266 2nd Ave., fell out the emergency door exit of a para-transport bus at approximately 3:08 p.m., in the 1900 block of Liberty Street, Allentown, Grim said. An autopsy was performed July 2.

Grim ruled Smoyer's death an accident.
