Erwin C. Smoyer, 82, of Allentown, died July 1, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Clarence L. and Beatrice L. (Staudt) Smoyer.

He worked for VAST for three years and Easton Coach for the last seven years.

Prior, he worked for Air Products for more than 30 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He bowled with the Tuesday morning men's group at Mountainville Bowling Lanes and was an avid skier with the Ptarmigan Ski Club.

His survivors include a brother, Ralph L. of Allentown; sisters Arlene Kugler of Kunkletown, Evelyn Smith of Emmaus; and Rene A. Cruz Jr., who although never formally adopted, was considered a son.
