The June 20 meeting of the Coplay-Whitehall Sewer Authority lasted only six minutes.
In that brief period of time, Engineer Darryl Jenkins informed members of the board the new sanitary sewer interceptor line the authority has been working on the past few years is nearly completed.
"So, we've made pretty good progress," Jenkins said. "We're almost through with the meat and potatoes of the project."
The 600-foot long pipe line runs parallel to the Coplay Creek, Jenkins said. The new pipe will replace an older version that has deteriorated over the years.
"It's been an ongoing process for the past two years," added Jenkins.
In other business, the authority nominated board member Joe Mack to serve as a voting delegate at this year's Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association (PMAA) state conference scheduled for next month. The board also nominated and approved Michael D. Hobel II to serve as an alternative.
The board meets again 7:30 p.m. July 18 in the public meeting room of the CWSA building. It is located on MacArthur Road next to the Whitehall Township building.
