Ronald A. Lewis
Ronald A. Lewis, 79, of Laurys Station, died June 29, 2013, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
He and his wife Doris E. (Bedford) Lewis celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary Jan. 14.
Born Jan. 12, 1934, in Franklin Forks, Susquehanna County, he was the son of the late Reginald Lewis and Rachel (Tingley) Lewis Belcher.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era.
Since the age of 16, he was a truck driver for various trucking firms, last employed by J. B. Hunt Inc. before retiring in 1989.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Laurys Station, New Milford Rod and Gun Club, Egypt VFW Post 7293, and a life member of American Legion Post 899, Walnutport.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Ronald Mark of Laurys Station and his companion, Louise Buss, Chris Miller and her husband, John, of Harrisonville, Connie L. Wentz and her husband, Roger, of Lehighton, Mike F. and his wife, Monique, of Laurys Station, Cheryl L. Beers and her husband, Frank, of Northampton, Cathy L. Thomas and her husband, Mike, of Moorestown; brother Frederick of Susquehanna; sister Betty Jayne of Winchester, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by siblings, Reginald and Roger, Marilyn Wellman and Evelyn Conklin.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
