John W. Snyder, 89, of Allentown, died June 24, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. Allentown.

He was the husband of the late Clara S. (Moyer) Snyder.

Born in Sumneytown, he was a son of the late Adam and Sarah Snyder.

A sewing machine operator for many years, he was a member of VFW Post 5954 and theVeterans Home Association, both in Red Hill.

He honorably served his country in the Army during World War II.

His survivors include sisters Grace Lugar of Johnstown, Martine Hersh of Frederick, Jean Bair of Williston, Vt., and Sarah Benner of Tucson, Ariz.; brother Samuel of Frederick; and nieces and nephews.

His services were private.
