Catasauqua finishes regular season 12-5

Catasauqua finished the Lehigh Valley Connie Mack regular season with a 12-5 mark after mauling Moore Township 11-0 last Wednesday night.

Catty has to sit and wait for the playoffs. According to head coach Jim Kober the team isn't sure who they will play because many teams had games remaining through this week.

The Rippin' Roughs led 5-0 and got five more in the bottom of the sixth inning to put away visiting Moore Township. Seven Roughies accounted for 11 hits.

Dakota Schiffer pitched a three-hitter, and with the stick, Schiffer had a sacrifice and was walked.

Catasauqua's cleanup hitter Joe Rothrock roped two doubles and drove it three runs. Alex Torres lashed a triple and sent a long fly ball for a sacrifice fly. Torres produced four RBIs.

Leadoff man Mikey Shutta was 1-for-3 with a stolen base, scored a run and had an RBI.

Second batter Jacob Kober went 2-for-3, swiped two bases, and scored two runs with an RBI.

Three Catty Connie Mack players were picked to play for the Green Squad in the Lehigh Valley Connie Mack League all-star game Jordan Madaya has been chosen as a pitcher, catcher and third base, Alex Torres and Joe Rothrock for first base or outfield.
