Midget Brown team falls
Catty Midget Brown had just 12 players on the roster, but the Central Whitehall League skipper Mike Henning has done a very effective job getting all of the players ample action, and finding success, too. The team had its season end Sunday in their second loss of a double-elimination tournament, falling to Laurys 16-4.
But, the Brown proved to be well-prepared and after last Friday night's playoff victory Henning wanted to list each and every one of the players and coaches for the Catasauqua Press. Members of the team are: Mitchell Becker, Logan Dias, Eli Fink, Dylan Gino, Bradshaw Henning, Andrew Martinez, Deangelo Martinez, Bradley Panto, Dallas Seidel, Owen Smith, Austin Tomcics, Devon Troxell. Coaches are Mike Henning, John Tomcics, Nick Lukow, Dave Tomcics and Ron Becker does a great job of taking care of statistics.
The team was 8-4-1 coming into the June 14 pigtail game against Catty White (8-5).
White defeated Brown 16-12 in the last game of the regular season. But, the Catty Brown outlasted Catty White 10-8 in this contest. Hitters on both sides were strong at the plate as the teams combined for 20 hits, including three extra base hits.
The top of the first saw Catty White take an early lead, 5-0. But Catty Brown scored five runs of its own in the first to tie things up. Catty Midget Brown scored on a three-run double by Eli Fink, an RBI single by Dylan Gino and a groundout by Mitchell Becker.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with seven lead changes. Catty Brown took the lead in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. An error scored Bradshaw Henning and gave Catty Brown the lead for good.
The team was also sparked by Eli Fink and Austin Tomcics, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.

Despite Deangelo Martinez's 2-for-2 performance at the plate on Sunday, Catty Brown took a 11-5 loss at the hands of Bowmanstown on June 16.
After pushing across one run in the top of the third, Catty Midget faced a 7-1 deficit at that point.
A two-run single by Dylan Gino and then a run in the fifth still had Catty down 11-4. The team left the bases loaded in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.
After pushing across one run in the top of the seventh, Catty Midget faced an 11-5 deficit.

Northampton A's, the fourth seed, coughed up a lead, and Midget Brown won 17-13 on June 18.
Austin Tomcics got the win for Catty. He allowed one run over three innings, striking out three, walking one and allowing one hit.
In the top of the first, Northampton grabbed the early lead, 3-0. But Catty Midget with four runs of its own in the first. Catty scored on an RBI single by Andrew Martinez, a groundout by Mitchell Becker, an RBI single by Dallas Seidel, and a walk by Bradley Panto.
Northampton went up 12-5 before rain pushed the rest of the game to June 19.
Catty put up three in the fourth to close the gap to 12-8.
The fifth spelled defeat for Northampton as Catty grabbed the lead for good. More runners rounded the bases on a two-run single by Deangelo, a walk by Bradley, and a wild pitch.
In the sixth Catty added four as Seidel kicked things off with a double, scoring Eli Fink and Martinez. That was followed up by Owen Smith's single, plating Becker.
Devon Troxell had two extra-base hits for Catty Midget.

On June 21, Catty Midget and Egypt Green (2 seed) lit up the scoreboard on Friday as they combined for 19 runs. In the end, Catty won the offensive battle 11-8 in seven innings. The teams totaled 23 hits, including four extra base hits in the game.
Deangelo Martinez racked up four RBIs on three hits for Catty Midget. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the first and sixth innings. Austin Tomcics got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed one run over three innings. Austin struck out three, walked none and gave up two hits. Devon Troxell put away the final four outs to record the save.
Catty never trailed after scoring one run in the first on an RBI single by Deangelo. Catty added seven more runs in the top of the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Deangelo tripled, scoring Bradshaw Henning and Troxell. That was followed up by Eli Fink's double, plating Deangelo Martinez.
Catty increased its lead with two runs in the fourth. A ground out scored Troxell for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Fink's single, scoring Henning.
