The 2013 Hokendauqua Park & Playground Association's Bob Warke/Dale Horn Memorial Scholarships were recently awarded to Kelly Erie, Connor Bydlon and Matthew Bonshak.

Annually, two $1,000 scholarships are awarded to a male and female HPPA sports participant and high school graduate who plans to continue their education at a university, college or trade school.

Criteria for scholarship selection include high school academic performance, extracurricular activities and community service.

This year, the voting yielded a tie within the male division. Connor and Matt will share the $1,000 award.

The scholarships are funded by the annual Bob Warke/Dale Horn Basketball Tournament held at the end of the basketball season, and through generous donations by the Hokendauqua American Legion and friends who want to keep the spirit of Bob Warke and Dale Horn alive within youth sports.

We congratulate these and all of the HPPA fine student athletes.
