Lehigh Career and Technical Institute hosted a Skills USA State Heavy Equipment competition on the Schnecksville Campus, March 9.

Students from Lehigh Career and Technical Institute competed with students from Lancaster County Career and Technical Center and The Central Pennsylvania Institute, Pleasant Gap, Centre County.

Each student was required to display his abilities in a series of skills ranging from surveying a proposed driveway extension to using a back hoe to pick up an egg.

They were also tested on the nomenclature of a piece of heavy equipment and identify a "problem " that had been created by an instructor.
