Police arrested 17-year-old Lucas Joseph Cabassa, no specific address, for the homicide of a 25-year-old city man June 4.

According to police, the victim and two juveniles were involved in a physical altercation in the 800 block of Argus Court around 3:30 a.m. June 2, during which a third juvenile, Cabassa, stepped in and shot the victim once in the head.

The suspects fled the area and the victim was pronounced dead at St. Luke's University Hospital about an hour later.

Police issued a warrant for Cabassa June 3, and began wirking with U.S. Marhsall Service to track the young man.

The following day Cabassa, with an attorney present, surrendered himself at police headquarters. He is charged as an adult with criminal homicide and has been remanded to Northampton County Prison.
