Harold H. Smith, 99, formerly of Stony Run, died June 7, 2013, in Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center.

He was the widower of Cathryn R. (Scherer) Smith.

Born in Lynn Township, he was a son of the late Francis J. and Martha (Kunkel) Smith.

He was self employed as a painter and paper hanger for 32 years before retiring in 1979. He honorably and faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

His survivors include a son Ted C. and wife, Frances of Zionsville, daughter Bonnie L., wife of Randall Straub of Fleetwood; grandchildren Lauren and Kelly Smith, and Kristen and Austin Straub; sisters Annie Wetzel and Helen Ellison; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 13 brothers and sisters.

His memorial service will be 3 p.m. June 13 at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Road, Orefield, with the Rev. Jimmy Lee Werley officiating.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Interment will be private.
