Caleb John Connelly, son of Renee Morrow-Connelly and John Connelly, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
He is a member of Troop 150, sponsored by St. Joseph the Worker Church, Orefield, where he has been quartermaster, assistant patrol leader, chaplain's aide and instructor.
Connelly has received 26 merit badges.
His activities include North Valley first aid meets in 2009 and 2010, orienteering competition in 2010, Sabattis in 2009, and Philmont High Adventure in 2011.
He is vice president of the National Honor Society, four-time letter winner for cross country and track, four-year member of Model UN, and has volunteered at the Eastern Pa. Down Syndrome Center Buddy Walk and with St. Luke's Radiology Department.
For his Eagle Scout project, Connelly cleared and fenced 1.5 acres of land at the Wildlands Conservancy to serve as a conservation study area and public demonstration of a forest without invasive species and deer.
Connelly is salutatorian for the 2013 class of Allentown Central Catholic High School.
He will attend the University of Rochester in the fall to study biomedical engineering.
