Catty Brown Biddy team heads into playoffs 14-0

Catasauqua Brown's Central Whitehall League Biddy team takes their perfect, 14-0 record into the quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon at Opportunity Field in Catasauqua. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. against an opponent to be determined.

The Browns are four wins away from the CWL championship.

Catty White also made the playoffs by virtue of their third place finish. White hosts Salisbury Gray in the pigtail round game on Friday evening at 5:45 p.m. at Opportunity Field.

Brown has shut out four teams and has ten-runned seven and also gave the Egypt Cobras Green their only two losses this year. The Brown has outscored opponents 178-36. Great pitching and defense have been the strength of the team all season.

The Browns are coached by Austin Brett and assisted by Steve Ritter and Brian Monahan. Frank Lukitsch, Jacob Hess, Rodger Scheirer and Joey Russo all help out the squad.

The team is led by many strong players. Austin Brett is probably one of the best catchers in the league and is an excellent hitter as well. He also sees time on the mound.

Derek Troxell plays first base and is the verbal leader of the team and plays great defense.

Matt Ritter is solid defensively and has been seeing the ball well all season while at second Shortstop Adam Reinhart could be the best athlete on the Browns.

Third base is manned by Mason Hess who is head smart about the game.

Sebastian Arias, only a fifth grader, finds the plate well and plays the outfield when not pitching.

Tyler Monahan, an outfielder, is big and strong and is also the closer. Jalen Lukitsch is considered a natural athlete who roams the outfield.

Dylan Hertzog, Jacob Scheirer, Jacob Nye, Donovan Walakovits, Caleb Kroft have also played well this season.

After the pigtail rounds on Thursday and Friday, the lowest seed from the American Division will come to Catty to play Saturday.

In Midgets, Catty Brown takes on Catty White on Friday night.
