The Friends of the Parkland Library, Walbert Avenue, South Whitehall, will have a porch book sale 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 21.

There will be a large used book sale will take place from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Aug. 9 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 10 at Asbury United Methodist Church, Springhouse Road and Walbert Avenue, South Whitehall.

Donated books will be accepted at Asbury between 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Aug. 5-8. Do not drop off books at the library.

Books, games and puzzles in good condition will be accepted. Encyclopedias, VHS Tapes, audio cassettes, older computer books (copyright before 2010), magazines or any book not in good condition will not be accepted.

Allentown AARP Chapter 5415 will meet noon June 6 at St. Timothy's Church, 140 S. Ott St., Allentown.

Program will be "Captain Radio," aka Joe Hehn.

He will take members and guest on a journey through the glory days of radio.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Bring a non-perishable food item for the Allentown Food Bank.

The Allentown Band, America's oldest civilian concert band, with Ronald Demkee, conductor, will perform 6:30 p.m. June 9 at Luther Crest Retirement Community, 800 Hausman Road, South Whitehall.

Bring a lawn chair to this free event.

Lehigh County Senior Center will be having Saturday night dances from 7:30-10:30 p.m. Per person admission fee includes refreshments.
