The Order of the Eastern Star Region 13-A sponsored a Magical Gold and Silver Stars luncheon recently at Starlite Café Diner, Route 100, Upper Macungie Township.
Region 13-A Deputy Grand Matron Carol E. Ruffner of Lebanon Chapter No. 115 and Evelyn B. Kohl, chairman of the Golden Stars Committee, attended the affair.
Elsie S. Heist of Breinigsville, A.G.C.C.M., Golden Stars, began the luncheon with a warm welcome to all in attendance and especially to the Gold 50-year members: Anna Belle Corl, Jean M. Donley, Jeanette M. Fink, Daryl B. Hoffmaster, P.M., all of Lebanon Chapter No.115, Barbara J. Klink (now residing in Arizona), Beverly M. Wink, Barbara L. Werner, all of Reading Chapter No. 251.
Lois Reinert, P.M. of Bird Chapter No. 460, was honored as a Silver 25-year member.
A personalized name card, scrolled program, and a small floral nosegay adorned each place setting.
As a special treat, a mint candy from the Candy Factory at Huguenot Lodge No. 377, F.&A.M., Kutztown, awaited each attendee.
LaRue L. Rex, P.M., of New Tripoli, gave the invocation before the meal.
After the meal, Paul Hallas, a Reading based magician, presented a magic show.
In addition to the privilege of signing the Region 13-A banner, all the Gold Star 50-year members received a corsage and various gifts in honor of their years of membership and service to the order.
