The Northampton girls softball team captured the District 11 4A title with a win over Liberty at Patriots Park in Allentown on Thursday night. The Kids won 3-0 behind another shutout from pitcher Marly Laubach, her 14th of the season, while she recorded her 22nd win of the year.

Leandra Sterner got things going for the Kids in the bottom of the first with a triple off Liberty pitcher Lauren Epsaro. Sterner would score on a fielder's choice ground out off the bat of Taylor Kerbacher (2 RBIs). That would be all Laubach would need as she allowed just four hits to a potent Liberty offense, while walking two and striking out two. The Kids didn't commit any errors behind Laubach.

Kendra Makovksy was 2-for-3 and other hits came from Tori Gollie (triple), Bri Dalton (double) and Erin Tiwold. Amber Saylor and Kerbacher also scored runs, both coming in the bottom of the fifth as the Kids added some insurance to make it 3-0.
