Allentown AARP Chapter #5415 will meet noon, at St. Timothy's Church, 140 S. Ott St., Allentown. "Captain Radio" aka Joe Hehn will take attendees on a journey through the glory days of radio. Remember sitting around your radio listening to your favorite show? Who was your favorite star? Relive the memories through the knowledge of "Captain Radio." Everyone is welcome. A community breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown. There will be a donation which will benefit the 275th anniversary committee. The 275th anniversary year of the church will be celebrated in 2016 and the committee is preparing a slate of events, as well as various events in the years leading up to the anniversary. VBS "SKY" continues through June 14, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for children ages two through 11. Lehigh County TRIAD invites one and all to meet, Diane Schraymeyer, director of senior corps RSVP at their monthly meeting at EMERITUS, 1545 Greenleaf St., Allentown. A free continental breakfast is served 8 a.m. followed by the guest speaker and regular meeting 8:30 a.m. The major purpose of TRIAD is to develop, expand and implement effective crime prevention programs for older community members. The Lower Milford Township Fire Company will hold a carnival 6 to 10:30 p.m. through June 15. All proceeds benefit the fire company. Special entertainment 7 p.m. each night with fireworks June 14. Concerned East Penn Taxpayers Association will hold a United Services Appreciation Day 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Fire Company #1, 6th and Broad streets, Emmaus. Scheduled speakers are Marine Sgt. Major John Neith, Air Force Erin Herbert and Marine Brian Smith. All retired and current military service personnel, fire, ambulance, police and elected officials are invited to attend and share their experiences with the public.
