After barely missing a Lehigh Valley Conference playoff berth, Parkland's softball team had more two weeks off before openign District 11 tournament play.
The Lady Trojans earned the No. 3 seed in Class AAAA, behind top-seeded Pleasant Valley, the Mountain Valley Conference champ, and No. 2 Northampton, a team that's beaten Parkland twice this year.
The Trojans showed no signs of rust after their layoff. They had a first-round bye then opened district play last week with a 10-0 win over Emmaus in the quarterfinal round.
The Trojans (16-5) had Tuesday's semifinal against Northampton rained out and postponed to Wednesday. See next week's Press for coverage of that game.
