East Allen Township is holding sign-ups for summer camp, which runs June 17-Aug. 1.

Registration is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at the municipal building, 5344 Nor-Bath Blvd.

There is a cost.

The Bertsch-Hokendauqua-Catasauqua Watershed Association will sponsor a free day of watershed education and activities at Kreidersville Covered Bridge Park, Allen Township, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, June 1.

The rain date is Sunday, June 2.

This event will introduce kids and parents to plants, animals and insects that live in Hokendauqua Creek and nearby habitats. They will also learn about threats from invasive plant species and how streamside forests protect waterways from pollution.

Kids and adults alike can make sun catchers, too. Watershed association members will provide all materials.

Participants should wear sunscreen and shoes and clothing that can get wet and dirty. Consider bringing a towel and a dry change of clothes.

Live music will be provided throughout the day by Serene Green and Appalachian Gypsy Tribe.

Smokey Bear will be wandering the park throughout the day, too.

This program is funded by a grant from the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers Association.
