STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. What grade are you in?

A. I am in 12th grade.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is economics because I love how relevant it is to the real world.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am a member of National Honor Society and German Honor Society, and I am a National Commended Scholar as well as an Advanced Placement Scholar. I have been on the Principal's Honor Roll for every marking period in high school.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I play the viola in the orchestra and chamber orchestra. I am president of Habitat for Humanity and the orchestra, the Class of 2013 historian, the president of National Honor Society and a Hornet Ambassador.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I plan to attend Penn State Schreyer to major in economics.

Q. What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?

A. My biggest challenge has been finding a good balance between school, friends and other activities and keeping my grades in perspective.

Q. What do you want to be remembered for?

A. I would like to be remembered for always smiling and giving my best effort.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My family consists of my mom, Gayle, my dad, Tom, my sister, Brooke, my brother, Eric and my dog, Misty.

Q. Do you have someone you look up to?

A. I look up to my orchestra director, Mrs. Connie Arnold. She is one of the most dedicated, encouraging and compassionate people I have ever met, and she believes in every one of her students.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Enjoy every moment, and become involved in activities about which you are passionate.
