David A. Peifly
David A. Peifly, 60, of Upper Milford Township, died May 7, 2013, inLehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
He was the loving husband of Tracy Peifly.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Richard S. and Ardath L. (Minner) Peifly.
A 1970 graduate of Parkland High School, he graduated from the University of Virginia in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.
He was the former president of Smith and Peifly Inc., Allentown, from 1982-03.
He was the third generation to run the prominent Allentown business founded in 1919.
An active member of the Allentown Rotary Club, he was club president 1991-92 and foundation president from 1995-98.
A member of the Lehigh Valley Hospital Board of Associates from 1990-98, he was board president from 1994-95.
He served as a member of the Upper Milford Township Zoning Hearing Board from 1990-95 and was the board's vice chairman from 1994-95.
He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed cooking, gardening and disc golf.
He loved taking walks with his wife and always enjoyed getting some fresh air.
He was a member of various Emmaus social clubs including Catholic War Vets Post 454, Citizen's Fire Co. No. 2, Unami Fish and Game, VFW Post 7088, The Mercantile Club and Emaus Fire Co. No. 1.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by stepson Tyler Martin; biological children Richard and Katherine; sister Sandra "Cindy" and her husband, Barry Stettler, and many other loving family members.
