Laurys Station Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 recently had their 2013 elections.

Charles Eckhart was named president with Matt Desch serving as vice president.

Robin Hood was named recording secretary and Marie Hood was selected as financial secretary.

Eric Minford will serve as treasurer and Roderick Lowe will be the chaplain.

Dale French, Dale Remaley and Charles Wechsler are the fire company's trustees.

Fire line officers are Chief Robin Hood; 1st Assistant Chief Kevin Remaley; Fire Police Captain John Bull; Safety Coordinator Paul Schuler; Truck Engineer Dale French; and Quartermaster Paul Schuler.

Congratulations go to Dale French, for being the 2012 Firefighter of the Year, and Logan Noll being the 2012 Junior Firefighter of the Year.

Fire Company monthly business meetings are the second Wednesday of every month at 8 p.m.

Fire team training is offered every Monday evening at 6:30 p.m.

Volunteers are always needed.
