Just like the baseball team, Catty fell behind early Monday against Northern Lehigh before pulling away for an 8-3 win.

Catty tried 2-1 after an inning but would add seven runs over the final five innings. Alexis Ayache went the distance and allowed just three hits while striking out three and walking three. CHS took advantage of six Bulldog errors in the game while scoring eight runs on six hits.

Paige Kogelman was 1-for-2 with a sacrifice, a walk, a steal and four RBIs. Hannah Edwards went 2-for-5 with four runs and four steals.

Catty kept its playoff hopes alive with a 4-3 win over Bangor, scoring twice in the top of the seventh to pull ahead.

Olivia Schlofer reached base on a throwing error by the shortstop and eventually moved to second base. Hannah Edwards reached first with a bunt single. Schlofer advanced to third base and Edwards eventually stole second base.

Erika Lebron put down a bunt and Bangor's third baseman overthrew first base, scoring both Schlofer and Edwards. Lebron moved on to second base, but was eventually stranded.

Devin Mackay hit a solo home run with one out to make the score 4-3. But, Alexis Ayache got the final two outs to secure the win for Catty. Ayache got the win in relief of starting pitcher Kortney Kunkle.

Hannah Edwards led off game with bunt single and stole second and then got to third on a pass ball. Janae Matos walked and the Roughs followed with a successful double steal while allowed Edwards to come home with the first run.

"I am confident in Janae and Hannah's smart base running," head coach Bobby Thomas said.

In the fourth, Bangor tied the game 2-2 as Kailey Smith hit a two-out, two-run single with the bases loaded.

Kiley Kuchar and Mikayla Mulea both rapped two hits in the contest for Bangor.

Catty won 16-5 nonleague game up in Roseto on Friday afternoon against Pius X.

Hannah Edwards was 5-for-5 with her second home run of the season. The freshman is already on the radar screen of Division I universities and colleges. Coastal Carolina promised to come up to see her play in the summer.

Olivia Schlofer collected three hits including her first home run of the year. Janae Matos had two RBI, ground rule doubles, one down the left field line and one down the right field line.

Shortstop Abby Preletz had her first varsity hit. Paige Kogelman made a diving web gem catch in center field to end a Pius X rally.

Pitcher Kortney Kunkle went the distance for the Roughies.

"I am looking forward to the next two games," Hannah Edwards said. "As a freshman, this is a great experience and will help us out in the future. I would love to play in both the Colonial League and district playoffs."
