The newly formed East Penn Youth Cheerleading Association will hold a fundraiser and registration event 6 to 8 p.m. at Menchies, 353 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. The fundraising event will take place all day and the group will receive a percentage of each order if the organization is mentioned. Practice will begin in August and go through March 2014. Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network is holding a free stroke risk screening, 9 a.m. to noon at the organization's health and technology center, 850 South Fifth Street, Allentown. The free screening will include a medical history review; measurement of height, weight, blood pressure and heart rate; blood sugar and cholesterol screening; nutritional education; and personal stroke risk assessment. Alburtis Centennial Celebration begins 6:30 p.m. with a "100th Birthday" cake cutting at Borough Hall. Additional activities continue 7:15 to 9 p.m.

Third annual charity bike ride to benefit St. Luke's Hospice at The Bob Rodale Cycling and Fitness Park, Trexlertown. Participants can choose to ride 10 or 35 miles; both rides begin 9 a.m. Register at ww.active.com. Registration closes 9 p.m. May 8.

Start your spring planting with the Lower Macungie Garden Club. From 8 a.m. to noon, the club will sell plants freshly dug from their gardens. They will also have baked goods, as well as some unique butterflies available for purchase. This event is their first fundraiser for the Butterfly Garden, which they will begin to install this month on the community center campus. Pick up something new for your flowerbed, have a snack and learn how you can be part of the Butterfly Garden initiative. Volunteers and donations needed and welcomed. Lehigh County TRIAD invites the public to recognize Parkinson Disease month. The informational meeting will be held at EMERITUS of Allentown, 1545 Greenleaf St., Allentown. Candidates Night sponsored by Concerned East Penn Taxpayers Association 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fire Company #1 at the corner of 6th and Broad streets, Emmaus. Emmaus Historical Society meets 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. The program for the evening is "Native Americans of Eastern Pennsylvania and the Jasper Quarries of Vera Cruz" presented by Bob Benner. Prior to the program there will be an election for board members whose terms expire.

Open house at Upper Milford Western District Fire Co # 1, Chestnut St, Old Zionsville, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free refreshments, games for the children, crafts, face painting. CPR Class will be held 10:30 a.m.; upon completion, a certificate will be given. New York Life representatives will photograph and fingerprint children. Come see the fire trucks and area ambulances.
