North Catasauqua's Charotin Hose Company responded to the following calls recently.
Brush fire
April 15, 4:42 p.m.
Firefighters responded to the area behind Hampton Lanes with the Northampton Fire Department and Northampton Regional EMS for a report of a brush fire. Firefighters found a small camp fire and used a pressurized water extinguisher to put it out. The fire was caused by a group of children who were playing along the river. Police interviewed the responsible parties and fire cleared the scene.
Motor vehicle accident
April 16, 11:04 a.m.
Charotin personnel responded to the 1400 block of Canal Street along with the Northampton Fire Department and Northampton Regional EMS for a motor vehicle accident with injuries and a fire. No further details were available.
EMS assist
April 17, 1:04 p.m.
North Catasauqua personnel responded with Northampton Regional EMS and the North Catasauqua Police Department for a report of a person down in the 1100 block Eighth Street. Firefighters stood by on location approximately 10 minutes until EMS released them.
Dwelling fire
April 18, 8:01 a.m.
Charotin firefighters were dispatched for a dwelling fire in the 1500 block of Laubach Avenue in Northampton, along with the Northampton and Allen Township fire departments and Northampton Regional EMS.
The caller had reported an odor of smoke at the front porch. Initial responders found no fire and a suspected electrical problem.
Mutual aid companies were slowed or held a quarters.
