State Police Troop M Bethlehem will be conducting its 29th Camp Cadet June 16-21 at Camp Fowler, Orefield.
This year 90 Cadets will be selected to have a first-hand opportunity to experience what it takes to become a law enforcement officer.
To be eligible for Camp Cadet, a boy and girl must be at least 12 years old but not older than 14 by May 1, be a resident of either Lehigh or Northampton counties and in good physical condition.
The camp, funded solely by donations from area police, private citizens and civic and business groups, is designed to bring a better understanding to youth of the law enforcement profession while living in an atmosphere of an actual state police training academy.
Instruction and demonstrations will be presented by Pennsylvania State Police, firearms Instructors, forensic services unit, special emergency response team, Emmaus Police Department, K-9 units, patrol troopers and the aviation unit (helicopter).
Additional instruction and demonstrations will be conducted by University Medevac, Tri-clover Fire and Rescue, Bethlehem City Police Department Bike Unit, Tiger Schulman MMA Karate, Lehigh Crime Stoppers, Lehigh and Northampton County Coroners, Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Secrete services and Allentown Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT).
Cadets will also be involved in competitive sports including softball, basketball, rifle, soccer and flag football.
Trophies will be awarded to the champions at the graduation ceremony 6 p.m. June 22.
Counselors will be law enforcement personnel from the Pennsylvania State Police Troop M and police officers from Tinicum Township, Lehigh Township, Slatington Borough and various civilian police personnel.
Boys and girls interested in attending must submit an application no later than May 1.
