Salisbury Township Police Department units were dispatched to the Lehigh Valley Health Network - Cedar Crest Campus, about 10:22 a.m. April 18, to investigate a report of a suspicious package.
The package was reported to be in a first floor women's rest room in the Kasych Family pavilion.
The Salisbury Township Police responded and met hospital security on scene. A secure perimeter was established and the first floor of the building was evacuated and secured.
The City of Allentown Bomb Squad responded to assist with the package.
Also assisting at the scene were the Pennsylvania State Police, the Emmaus Police Department and the Western Salisbury Township Fire Department.
The Allentown Fire Department Bomb Squad deemed the suspicious package as safe and the contents were packaged by Salisbury Township Police for additional processing.
The building was deemed to be safe and all units cleared at about 1 p.m.
