Patricia A. Panfile, 88, of Macungie, died April 19, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late C. Thomas Panfile, who died May 10, 1979. Born in Stowe, she was a daughter of the late Dorastus and Mary Alice (Heck) Mauger.

She grew up during the depression, worked in a sewing factory as a seamstress and enjoyed her life as a homemaker, caring for her children.

She spent many years knitting baby blankets for family and friends and with her love and dedication, the Granny Project was born. One hundred blankets have been distributed for those in need, most recently the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

She is survived by a son, Thomas P. and his wife Patricia (McCloskey) of Upper Macungie; daughter, Susan M. and her husband Walt Przyuski of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Allison Wehr, Laura Mertl, Joshua, Rebecca, Shannon Horwath, Alyssa Asonye; great-grandchildren, Race Wehr, Kendra Wehr, Ryan Mertl, Gregory Mertl, Connor Horwath, Lincoln Asonye; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, June Schutt and Joyce Mauger.

A celebration of life will be held 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, April 24, at Hunsicker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3438 Route 309, Orefield. No calling hours.
