Catasauqua column
The Great Catasauqua Canal Cleanup will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
This annual event is supported by the Borough of Catasauqua, as well as the state, in appreciation of Earth Day.
Volunteers will meet in the old Deily Coal Yard, access point behind Front Street via Union Street.
Organizers will provide gloves, orange safety vests, bags for trash and a tool for the brush cleanup effort. Beverages and snacks will also be provided. As with prior years, volunteers may also help cleanup the downtown areas.
