Robert F. Schlegel, 80, of Salisbury Township, died April 8, 2013, in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Patricia J. (Brenner) Schlegel. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in October 2012. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Ernest J. and Leona (Smith) Schlegel.

He worked in the maintenance department of Mack Trucks for over 30 years, retiring in 1988.

He was a graduate of Allentown High School and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a huge Phillies fan and enjoyed vacations on Cape Cod. He adored his entire family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; son, Glenn D. and his wife Shelly G. of Catasauqua; grandchildren, Mary Ellen and Dylan Thomas Schlegel; sisters, Arlene Reitz and her husband Forrest, Edith "Jean" Scheirer, Karen Dreher and her husband Arlington; brothers, Ronald and his wife Dianne, Colin "Kelly" and his wife Dorothy, Dennis and his wife Helen; sister-in-law, Dorothea. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard.
