Angler catches palomino trout in Jordan Creek

Max Moses, of Fogelsville, an avid outdoorsman, particularly fishing and herpatology, caught a 23-1/4 inch, 4.7 lb., 14.5-inch gerth, Palomino trout on April 1, as recorded by Chris Mohry of Chris' Outdoor Sports (Chris' Bait and Tackle), Mertztown.

Bob Danenhower, of Bob's Taxidermy, also measured the fish, as it was caught near his shop in the Jordan Creek.

A school bus driver for Northwestern Lehigh, netted the fish, which ran a few times, for Moses.

Danenhower, Mohry and the school bus driver could not have been more thrilled for Moses, who has been going to Chris' as long as he can remember, so he was really proud to take the fish there.

This was Moses' second trip to the steam, as early in the day around 9 a.m., while fishing about two hours from a fallen tree, he fell in while trying to unsnag a hook, and had to go home.

Later in the day, Moses returned to the stream to see if the crowd had thinned.

Using worms, Moses caught his fish about 4:15 p.m.
