COUGAR COMMENT We're at home in Catasauqua

Lehigh Valley Christian High School would like to thank our wonderful neighbors for their cooperation in clearing the parking lot when we celebrated our 25th anniversary last month. We are also thankful to the Catasauqua borough, St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and Hartzell's Pharmacy for allowing us additional parking space for that event. What a pleasure it has been to be located in this wonderful community! And we recently were notified by Mayor Barbara Schlegel the Shade Tree Commission is planting a tree in the park to honor our school April 27. Thank you so much.

The spring athletic program has gotten off to a good start. Our baseball team began their season with a 6-2 victory over Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School, and our girls soccer club also began with a victory. The track team participated in the Pirate Invitational at Palisades and already broke two school records in the girls and boys 4x800 relays.

Freshman Jennifer Wintermute placed eighth in the discus, earning three team points.

We have several home baseball games coming up (April 12, 15 and 23), and our track team will be at a home meet at Catasauqua High School April 23 as well.

On April 4, a special speaker from the Life Training Institute in Florida challenged us with a biblical prolife position. Our regular Chapel speaker on April 10, will also be addressing that topic.

Our annual "Clear the Clutter" Garage Sale in our gym was held April 6.

Those wanting a tour of the school facilities should RSVP to set up an appointment by calling 610-403-1000.

The drama team will be presenting the musical "Annie" in the school gym April 19 and 20. Call the office for reservations.

The LVCHS National Honor Society induction ceremony will be held 7 p.m. April 25.
