Bessie L. Pearsall, 79, of Macungie, died April 8, 2013, in her residence. She was the wife of William Pearsall, with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage in June 2012. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Paul C. Long Sr. and Martha (Charles) Long.

She was a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Macungie, active member of the Macungie Minstrelaires, volunteer at Macungie Memorial Park, active member of rabbit clubs with her husband and an active community volunteer.

She is survived by her husband; sons, William A. and his wife Kelly of Emmaus and Walter Scott and his wife Gayle of New Tripoli; daughters, Lois M. of Macungie, Cathy and her husband Ernie Lutterschmidt of New Smithville, Nancy and her husband Alan Hoffman of Macungie and Robin and her fiance Brian Wanamaker of Emmaus; brothers, Paul C. Long Jr. of Lancaster and Joseph Long of Colo.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; beloved dog Rosie. She was predeceased by a grandson, Anthony Romig.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 11 in Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie. Viewing 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the church. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus.
