The annual Arbor Day celebration will take place at the Catasauqua Park in the main pavilion at 10 a.m. April 27.

Trees and arborvitaes will be dedicated.

The event is open to the public.

A reminder to property owners that permission and permits must be obtained from the Shade Tree Commission to remove, prune or plant trees in the planter strip along the streets and highways in the borough.

Violation of any part of the ordinance will result in a fine.

An information pamphlet entitled "Are Your Trees in Violation" is available at the borough hall.

The Catty Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is still having its half-price sale through April 13.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday.
