R. David Stewart, 70, of Emmaus, died suddenly March 26, 2013. He was the husband of Wilma A. Stewart, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August. Born in Morgantown, W. Va., he was the son of the late Robert and Helen (McQuay) Stewart.
He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and worked for PP&L, VAST, and Mt. Trexler Home before retiring.
He was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit.
He enjoyed doing sudoku and spending time with his grandchildren and their dog Buddy.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Tammy and her husband Jim Scanga, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Abigail, Jesse, and Annalise Scanga of Pittsburgh and Matthew, Blake and Alec, of Austin, Texas; brothers Ronald, of N.C., Charles, of Conn., and Richard, of Smithfield; sisters, Meredith Schmidt, of Colo. and Cheri, of Yardley. He was predeceased by a son, D. Matthew in 2010.
