H. Burnis Fellman

H. Burnis "Bernie" Fellman, 92, of Wernersville, formerly of Emmaus, and N. Ft. Myers, Fla., died March 24, 2013, in the Phoebe Berks Healthcare Center, after a long battle with several illnesses. He was the husband of Reba M. (Henrie) Fellman, to whom he was married for 68 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Harvey B. and Jennie P. (Slifer) Fellman.

He started his career as a teacher with the North Coventry School District and then the Allentown School District, where he was a business teacher for 35 years, retiring in 1977 as chairman of the business department. He was treasurer of the Allentown Teachers Credit Union.

He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Force, where he was a Staff Sgt. in the 23rd Statistical Control Unit of the 12th Air Force.

He was a member of St. John's (Hains) UCC in Wernersville.

He was a former member of the Alton Park Lions Club.

He was a graduate of the William Allen High School, class of 1938, Bloomsburg University, class of 1942, and received his master's degree from Penn State University.

He enjoyed playing cards, tennis, golf, traveling and doing crossword puzzles.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Barry C. and his wife Heather J,. of Fleetwood; two daughters, Sherry L. and her husband Charles Stover, of Finleyville, and Kerry A., of Millville; five grandchildren, Christian, Caryn, Heather, Leigh and Benjamin; three great-grandchildren, Ean, Madison and Brayden. He was predeceased by two sisters, Katherine Moyer and Margaret Smith.
