Alma A. Apgar

Alma A. Apgar, 83, of Allentown, died March 27, 2013, in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Fenton Apgar Jr., who died in 1992. Born in Philadelphia,, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Gollon) Strunk.

She was a member of the Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, Lutheran Congregation.

She was employed as a long distance telephone operator for almost 29 years, for the former Bell Telephone, now Verizon, and was a lifetime member of the Pioneers of Bell Telephone. She had also worked part time as a PBX Operator at Sears.

She was a volunteer for the blind association for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda and her husband Richard Check, of Danielsville; son, Scott and his wife Melanie, of Carlisle; sister, Catherine Sturgeon; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
