LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT PROFILE: Sawyer Ann Hoyak, Notre Dame HS

Grade: 12

Family members: Joyce Hoyak, mother; Curt Hoyak, father; Chloe Hoyak, sister; Seever Hoyak, brother; and Rufus, dog

Favorite subject: My favorite subject has to be English because I enjoy reading. I also enjoy art class because I am creative, but also a perfectionist. I feel that art allows me to express myself.

Activities: I am co-captain of the volleyball team, secretary of SADD, a student council representative, and a member of chorus.

Next steps: I plan on attending college to become a dental hygienist.

Career Goals: My career goals are to be successful but also have time to raise my own family.

Heroes: My ultimate hero will always be Kimberly Lynn Gillow. She battled and survived Ewings Sarcoma with spirit, grace and humor. She will always be remembered as a warmhearted and loving friend who never stopped smiling, and she was one of the strongest individuals I have ever met. I miss her every day and she will forever be remembered in my heart.

Hobbies: I love dancing, ice skating, drawing, listening to music, singing, playing the piano. I love fishing with my dad. I love being outdoors and I collect seashells.

Current job(s): I am a babysitter and a pet sitter.

Volunteer/community work: I am a member of the High School Retreat Team at St. Anne's Parish and we put together Confirmation retreats for eighth graders.

Likes: Dancing and having fun with my friends, laughing, family, storytelling memories of the past, drawing, listening to music, sleeping in, singing, playing the piano, food, fishing, holding and chasing after my dog Rufus, painting nails, ice skating, shopping, movies, being outdoors, seafood, cheering people up, smiling, Christmas, the number 10, God, and I love Disney World.

Dislikes: I hate waking up early, interruptions, bullies, being sick, memorizing things, running, math and arguments.

Greatest accomplishment (so far): My greatest accomplishment so far would probably be making the homecoming court and becoming co-captain of the volleyball team.

Advice for peers: "Every story has an end. But in life, every ending is just a new beginning." This line is from one of my favorite movies, Uptown Girls. Everyone in high school will experience a tough time, whether it's a relationship, a feeling of failure, or even friends. Remembering this quote will help you get through those times and will remind you that things happen for a reason.
