The Northwestern Lehigh community's Cleansweep 2013 recycling and cleanup event will take place 8 a.m.-noon April 6 at the Lowhill Township Building.
Sponsored by the Rural Preservation Association of Northwestern Lehigh County, proceeds provide Northwestern Lehigh senior with a scholarship.
There are fees for certain items. Accepted with free-will donations are televisions and CRT monitors, phones, copiers, LCD monitors, answering machines, GPUs, faxes, keyboards, laptops, micro-waves, modems, printers, radios, toaster ovens, coffee makers and items containing mercury.
Scrap metal with all nonmetal removed, auto batteries, baling twine, used motor oil, transmission fluid, cooking oil, pet carriers, cages, ink cartridges, newspapers, bicycles, strings of holiday lights, extension cords are also accepted.
The Salvation Army will be on site to accept donations of household items, furniture, books, toys, stuffed animals, clothes, craft items and working appliances
Paint, chemicals, antifreeze, smoke detectors and hazardous waste will not be accepted.
