Mary Dreisbach

Mary Dreisbach, 95, of Allentown, died March 19, 2013, in her home. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Dreisbach who died Aug. 28, 1984. Born in Macungie, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Holonich) Kalabisko.

She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Macungie, where she served in many capacities, including Sunday school teacher, ingathering committee chairperson, and coordinator for the church flowers, nursery and usher list.

She volunteered for more than 70 years at various institutions, including The Good Shepherd Raker Center, Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Phoebe Nursing Home, Liberty Nursing Home, the Allentown State Hospital and Meals on Wheels.

She was designated the Matriarch of the Cedarbrook Family for her 50-plus years of volunteerism, received the Morning Call Community Spirit Award, the Good Shepherd Conrad W. Raker Volunteer Award, the President's Volunteer Service Award and the Commonwealth of PA House of Representatives Citation.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara A. Stearn, Phyllis J. Scarff, and Linda A. Ferrol, all of Allentown; son, Daniel A. and his wife, Carolyn C., of Kennett Square; grandchildren, Scott, Karen, Lynn, Erik, Brad, Lauren, Marianne, Jane, Jasmine and Emily; great-grandchildren, Phoebe and Lindsey. She was predeceased by nine siblings.

Memorial donations may be made to The Good Shepherd Raker Center Therapeutic Recreation Dept., Attn.: Development Dept., 850 S. 5th St., Allentown, 18103, or to Grace Lutheran Church.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. April 6, in Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie. A visitation period at the church will precede the memorial 10 to 11 a.m. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown.
