Anna C. Andrasek, 95, formerly of Salisbury Township, died March 29, 2013, in the Mary Ellen Convalescent Home, Hellertown. She was the wife of the late George Andrasek in August, 2001. Born in Vera Cruz, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Bukszar) Vince.

She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Paul's R.C. Church, Allentown.

She and her late husband owned and operated the former Mountainville Hotel for 47 years, until 1996.

In 1959 she received the Distinguished Service Award from Amvets Post #1 for displaying courage and good judgment which resulted in the saving of many lives on Dec. 13, 1958. She detected the escape of a large amount of gas in the basement of the Mountainville Hotel, and instructed the patrons to extinguish their cigarettes and vacate the premises immediately. Minutes after the patrons departed, the establishment was reduced to rubble by an explosion of the escaping gas.

She is survived by a son, Jonathan L., of Salisbury Township; sisters, Margaret and her husband Roswell Ortt, of Springhill, Fla., Irene and her husband Michael Lipositz, of Emmaus, and Rose Haas, of Maytown.
