Dates have been announced for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program training.

The all-hazard training course is designed to help participants protect themselves, their families, neighbors and neighborhoods in an emergency situation. When a disaster or large scale emergency occurs, CERT is about "neighbors helping neighbors within their own neighborhood," said CERT coordinator Chris Grim. Participants from both Whitehall and Coplay are welcome.

The class is scheduled to take place 6:30-10:30 p.m. April 2, 4, 9 and 11 at the Whitehall Fire Department training site, 2600 Lehigh St., Whitehall.
