The Moore Township recycling center is open again after a brief closure.
The center, located behind the municipal building at 2491 Community Drive, closed for maintenance and repair March 11-18. The work involved excavation to level out sloped land around the center, making it safer and improving drainage.
Now back to its operations 24-hours a day, seven days a week, the recycling center is available only to residents, not to commercial entities.
The center accepts leaves and brush. Branches must be no more than 6 inches in diameter.
The temporary closing of the recycling center was announced at the March 5 supervisors meeting.
In other business, the Land Preservation Board announced that its semiannual open house is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, April 8, at the township building.
The public is invited to the session, which will include two speakers – Maria Bentzoni from the Northampton County Land Preservation Board and Erin Lee from the Natural Lands Trust Conservancy.
The supervisors also accepted the resignation of a part-time police officer.
The public works department announced the hiring of a part-time person to work at the recreation center to help prepare the baseball fields for the upcoming season.
