Dennis L. Bittner, 72, of Schnecksville, died March 16, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife Marie M. (Berk) Bittner celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary last Sept. 3.

Born Nov. 25, 1940, in Weisenberg Township, he was the son of the late Elvin P. and Gertrude C. (Hahn) Bittner.

He was a farm laborer at Jaindl Farms Inc., Orefield for 20 years before retiring.

Prior to that, he was employed at the former Trexler Orchards, Orefield.

A member of Morgenland Union Church, Orefield, he was a life member of the Emerald Star Fire Co. and a member of the Blue Mountain Fish and Game Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Brenda L. of Pine Grove, Michael D. and his wife, Susan, of Bath, Lisa M. Lesher and her husband, Todd, of Macungie; siblings Virginia Kulp and Lamar, both of Allentown; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Gerald and a nephew, Karl.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. March 22, in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Sally D. Zelker officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Morgenland Union Cemetery, Orefield.
