Paul D. Bertsch

Paul D. Bertsch, 91, of Emmaus, died March 16, 2013, in DevonHouse Senior Living, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Lillian L. (Stevens) Bertsch. Born in Sigmunds, he was the son of the late William H. and Annie E. (Meitzler) Bertsch.

He worked for Occidental Chemical, Pottstown, retiring in 1986. Previously he worked for Air Products and Chemicals. In retirement he helped Mark "Dutch" Kistler Auctions.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus.

He honorably served his country in the Army Air Corp during World War II.

He was a charter member of the Claude Fisher VFW, Emmaus, where he served on the firing squad of the Emmaus Veterans Committee, was a life member of the Mercantile Club of Emmaus, Fire Company #1 and #2, member of the Emmaus Historical Society, Emmaus Optimist Club and Pikeville Sportsman Association.

He is survived by a daughter, Lori L. and her husband Stephen J. Kuzma of Bethlehem; grandsons, Steven Mack and Jason Mack and his wife, Chloe; stepgrandchildren, Stephen Kuzma Jr. and Nicole Kuzma.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Viewing 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
