Broughal: Students visit Lehigh lab
Thirty eighth grade students visited the Unit Ops Lab, Lehigh Unversity, in Dec. 2012. Mark Snyder and Jeetain Mittale of Lehigh presented a program about the role of a chemical engineer.The students viewed three experiments involving distillation and filtration.
The big and little brothers and sisters program has Lehigh students available to work Broughal students after school one day a week. The mentoring program is provided at no cost to the students. Call 610-866-5041.
ArtsQuest provides Broughal students with an arts mentoring program two days a week. The B-Smart after-school activity at the Banana includes pizza and approximately two hours of small group arts instruction.
BeCaHi: Mini-thon raises $50,000
The Bethlehem Catholic HS second annual mini-thon with almost 500 student participants raised more than $50,000 for the Four Diamonds Foundation to help fight pediatric cancer.
Bethlehem Catholic's Passion Play will be held at 7 p.m. on March 23 and at 2 and 7 p.m. March 24 at the school, 2133 Madison Ave. There will be a free-will donation to benefit the retired Sisters of St. Joseph. Call 610-866-0791.
