Police announced recently an arrest was made in the killing of a Fountain Hill man in 1994.

Police said in a release the man long wanted for the stabbing death of 30-year-old Jorge Velazquez in that year was discovered thanks to a cross-departmental investigation initiated by local Det. Lt. Mark DiLuzio.

Investigators came to believe Francisco Miranda, now 49, was hiding in the Dominican Republic.

Miranda was found, arrested, and extradited. He arrived in the U.S. Feb. 22 and is charged with aggravated assault and criminal homicide.
